Where Do I Start My Planning?Questions to ask yourself before you start planning your weddingThe thoughts behind planning a wedding can get stressful, but before you jump right in, there are questions that can break down and clerify the process to make it easier.
Planning a wedding can be stressful due to unneeded scattered thoughts. Have you ever caught yourself saying “I want that in my wedding, No, I want that in my wedding”? Don’t worry if you have due to being indecisive is very common. There are so many wonderful things offered in the wedding market that makes it hard to choose. If you know and understand “what you want” or at least have an idea of what you want then the planning process can be easier. There is help! Before you begin (and it is ok if you have already started) there are a series of questions that should be answered or considered. It will help you break down and clarify the direction you would like your wedding to be in. Read all the questions before you answer any, and when you’re ready to answer remember it is ok to have 2 or 3 different answers to each question. You never know when you will need a plan “B”. Questions:1. What type of wedding would you like to have? (Examples: Formal, Simi Formal, Informal) 2. Will your wedding have a theme? (Examples: Medieval, Country, Fairy Tail) 3. Will it be a traditional or nontraditional wedding budget? (Note: A traditional budget is where the brides parents pay for majority of wedding expenses) 4. Will there be a religious ceremony? (Examples: Catholic, Jewish, Christian) 5. If yes, then is there any conflict of religion on either side? (Example: Bride-to-be Christian, Groom-to-be Jewish) 6. Do you have a date set for your wedding? 7. Do you have your budget set? 8. If so, who is paying for what? 9. Do you have your bridesmaids picked already? 10. What about the groomsmen? 11. Would you like real, silk flowers or both? 12. Depending on the type of wedding, what type of food/drink would you like? 13. Would it be a sit down or a buffet? 14. Would you like it in a church or elsewhere? 15. Do you have a guest list already in plan? 16. Do you know of any vendors up front you would like to use? 17. What kind of music would you like to have? 18. Will there be a flower girl, ring bearer, or even pages? 19. Have you any accessories for the wedding yet? Do not get discouraged if you can not answer these questions right away and/or some of the questions do not apply to you. That’s not what the questions are intended for. These questions are intended to make you think so it is easier to break down and summarize how you would like your dream wedding. One question may trigger another question that you need to find the answer to. Everyone is different, there for every wedding will be different. So know that how ever you decide to plan your wedding, the “fact” is it is your wedding, have fun with it!
