Fun and Memorable Themes for Bridal Showers
A Great Way to Shower the Bride with Gifts and Entertain Guests

As the wedding day approaches, brides are often overwhelmed with things to do. The bridal shower should be planned by friends without putting additional stress on the bride. Take her personality, interests, sensibilities and personal taste into consideration when selecting a theme, games, refreshments and guests.
Luau Bridal Shower
Find invitations with flowers or anything with a tropical print. Guests should wear bright floral clothes.
Decorate with tropical silk flowers, flower leis and palm trees. Serve fresh fruit, tropical punch and finger sandwiches. Fun favors are flip-flops, beach towels, beach bags or sunglasses.
Where-They-Met Bridal Shower
Find out where the bride met the groom and have guests dress in similar attire to what she wore on that special day. The invitation should reflect something about the setting.
Decorate the room in a similar fashion to the location. Serve food that fits the setting, such as hamburgers for an outdoor event or hotdogs for a baseball game. Guests can go home with notepads and pens that reflect the theme of where the bride and groom met.
Wine and Cheese Bridal Shower
Serve a variety of wines and cheeses with crackers. Don’t forget to include nonalcoholic beverages for those who don’t care for adult beverages.
Play classical music to fit the mood of the party, and keep decorations simple. Small bags with breath mints and chocolate will make excellent favors.
Lingerie Bridal Shower
Include the bride’s size on the invitations. Ask guests to bring gifts of lingerie that the bride can wear on her honeymoon.
Decorate the room in a boudoir motif, using fragrant candles and strategically placed lace and netting. Serve fruit, chocolate and the bride’s favorite beverage. Party favors might include small bags of wrapped chocolate.
Kitchen Bridal Shower
Send invitations with a kitchen theme and ask guests to bring an item for the couple’s kitchen. Also request two copies of their favorite recipe printed on 3” by 5” note cards.
Decorate with a kitchen gadget centerpiece. Serve a variety of muffins, bagels, fresh fruit, coffee and tea. Guests can go home with a copy of other guests’ recipes in a file box provided by the host.
Tea Party Bridal Shower
Send formal invitations. Request guests to dress in their Sunday best, with white gloves if they have them. Serve a variety of loose or bagged teas.
Decorate with fresh floral bouquets and lace doilies. Provide dainty teacups and saucers for each guest. Offer finger sandwiches, fresh fruit and petit fours. Send guests home with a selection of teas in a tulle and ribbon pouch.
