Not all brides enjoy a night of barhopping or the attentions of a male stripper. Give the guest of honor a bachelorette she'll never forget with some creative ideas.
Whether planning a bachelorette for a close friend or sister, make it something special. Relive old memories, wear pigtails, and just let loose. It will help her relax before the big day and give her one last hurrah as a single gal.
- Go out dancing. Bring a tiara for the bride-to-be.
- Rent a cabin in the woods. Bring along old photos, yearbooks, and other memorabilia, along with some fun board games.
- Visit a vineyard for a wine tasting. Follow it up with an elegant dinner.
- Head out to an amusement park. Eat lots of cotton candy and win some prizes.
- Spend the day at a spa. If it’s close to the wedding, include her mani/pedi for the big day.
- Go bowling. Get at trophy for the bride-to-be.
- Take a girls-only road trip. Bring along a mix CD of favorite songs and set out on the open road.
- Have a fondue party. Go all out with cheese and chocolate fondue pots.
- Kidnap her for a surprise weekend. Coordinate with her fiancé to avoid conflicts.
- Treat her to a makeover. Follow it up with a funky photo shoot.
- Have a picnic. Have it catered and bring along a Frisbee.
- Go skiing. Arrange for lessons if she doesn’t know how.
- Get tickets to the theater. Treat her to a posh dinner or desserts afterwards.
- Climb a mountain. Get her some lacy shoelaces for her hiking boots.
- Have an old fashioned pajama party. Don’t forget the popcorn.
- Go extreme – bungee jump or sky dive. Live it up!
- Plan a craft weekend. Create wedding jewelry, centerpieces, thank you notes, etc.
- Coordinate a belly dancing workshop. Make sure to provide a fun veil for the guest of honor.
- Take her to a favorite sporting event. Get matching bachelorette t-shirts.
- Go camping. Tell ghost stories and roast marshmallows.
- Spend an afternoon horseback riding. Make sure she’s not afraid of horses!
- Plan a competitive scavenger hunt for the bridal party ladies. Have it in a location the bride is familiar with so she has an edge.
- Head across the border for some new scenery. Don’t forget the passports.
- Take an overnight cruise. Gamble the night away.
The most important element in planning the bachelorette is to take the interests of the bride into account. Factor in budget constraints of the bridesmaids and proximity to the wedding. Lastly, make sure everyone has a safe time. With just a bit of creativity and thought, the bachelorette can be a wonderful event she’ll treasure for years to come.
