Engagement party games are lively additions to the excitement of an upcoming wedding. Make your event the one everyone remembers by playing games that keeps the crowd happy and the couple smiling. Be sure to choose unique gifts for the winners, and don’t force anyone to play.
Who Knows Me Best?
The bride is here and the groom and probably a smattering of their nearest and dearest. But, who knows them best? Chose a couple family members and friends from the bridal party and give them and the bride and groom dry eraser boards and markers.
Then ask a series of questions about the bride and groom's preferences and courtship. Start easy and progressively get harder. Do not ask questions that will embarrass the couple or their family and friends; you do not want the wedding to be called off. Ask the bride and groom to show their answers then ask the rest of the participants to show theirs. The fun is in seeing the shock of family members who always believed that the bride's favorite color was green or the groom's best subject in school was lunch.

- Where did the bride and groom meet? (See if the bride and groom agree on this.)
- What is their song?
- What is your favorite restaurant?
- What is your favorite song?
The Newlywed Game
The newlywed game is a fun way for the bride and grooms to see what the future will hold through the always comedic antics of long time married couples. To play choose no more than three couples from the family and friends of the marrying couple. Give them each a dry erase board and place the wives at one end of the room and the husbands at the other. Then ask questions about their lives. Once again keep the questions lighthearted and non-humiliating.
The couple with the same answer gets a point. The couples with the most matching answers win. Do not be draconian; if the room gets energetic and the couple’s answers spark conversation go with the flow.

- Where did you meet?
- Where was your first date?
- What is your anniversary? (This question makes for an exciting moment in the game.)
- What was the address of the first place you lived together?
Names
Before the party, make up a paper with the bride and groom’s first name at the top; type blank lines underneath the names. Make one for everyone you anticipate coming. Instruct the partygoers to form as many words as possible from the couple’s names. Tell them they have two minutes. After the time limit is up, give prizes for the most words written down. Check spelling! Give a prize for over ten words. Then give a prize for fifteen words, twenty words and so on.
