Preparing your bridal shower invitations cards requires making decisions about your theme, location, and date. Why it looks so difficult?

Part of the responsibility of a bridesmaid or maid of honor is the wedding shower. Sending the bridal shower invites is one of the first steps in planning the celebration but making decisions about the location, the theme, and the date will play an important part in how you prepare those cards.

Choosing The Shower Location

While a bachelorette party might be more amazing if you held it at a bar or similar facility, that's not usually the route you want to take with a shower. Remember this guest list is going to be just a little bit different so no strippers should be on the entertainment list. Instead, your bridal shower should be fun but appropriate for women (and men, if you want) of all ages.

Party rooms in nice restaurants, someone's home or backyard, a reception hall of hotel room, or something along those lines would work well. And, obviously, you need to select the location and make the arrangements before you start mailing bridal shower invitation cards.

And make sure you have a back-up plan for outdoor shower parties in case of bad weather. You might even want to include this information on the wedding shower invites themselves.

Deciding On a Theme

In the old days, people just threw parties, but today parties need a theme. And that theme needs to be consistent throughout your whole event, including the bridal shower invitation cards.

One popular theme for showers is the "Around the Clock" theme. For this, you might choose shower invitations depicting a clock. The idea of the theme is each guest is assigned a different time of day. The gift the guest purchases should be appropriate for that time. For example, a guest assigned to noon might buy a sandwich maker while a guest assigned to midnight might purchase sexy lingerie.

In the case of this particular theme, you need to include all necessary information on your invitations for the guests. That might be true with other themes, as well. For instance, the "Lingerie" theme might require all guests to wear their pajamas to the party. That would be info you need to add to the invites.

Setting The Date

Before you finalize anything else, you need to finalize the date of the shower. Showers happen a couple of weeks before the wedding itself. Don't pick a time too close to the actual wedding date because everyone will be too busy with the final ceremony and reception planning. If the shower is a surprise for the bride, you'll need a sneaky way of finding out when she is available and you will need a co-conspirator who is available on the same day to get her to the location.

Make sure you start planning early because you need to mail the finished bridal shower invitation cards about two weeks before the event, especially if you want guests to RSVP. And those responses are going to help you decide how much food to buy.
